FOR BROKERS & PARTNERS

Complex Risk Often Requires More Than One Market or One Perspective.

Complex Risk Often Requires More Than One Market or One Perspective.

Caribbean and cross-border insurance risks can involve local licensing requirements, specialized underwriting, catastrophe exposure, complex program structures and multiple insurance-market participants. JGA Caribbean welcomes conversations with appropriately authorized insurance intermediaries and professional partners where our experience may complement local knowledge, client relationships or specialized market requirements.

WORKING TOGETHER

Local Knowledge. Specialized Experience. One Risk.

The strongest insurance solution is not always created by one organization working alone. A local intermediary may bring essential jurisdictional knowledge, regulatory authorization, market relationships and an established client relationship. JGA Caribbean can bring additional risk analysis, program-development experience, Caribbean and international insurance experience, and perspective on specialty or complex-market pathways. When those capabilities are complementary, the objective is not to displace the local professional relationship. It is to determine whether working together can produce a more appropriate response to the client’s risk, subject to the agreed engagement structure and applicable requirements.

THE LOCAL ROLE

Local Authorization Is Part of the Solution.

Insurance regulation, licensing requirements, market practices and client needs vary across Caribbean jurisdictions. Where local authorization is required, an appropriately licensed and registered local insurance intermediary or other authorized participant can provide an essential part of the insurance-placement and servicing process.

JURISDICTIONAL KNOWLEDGE — Understanding local insurance requirements, business practices and regulatory expectations.

LOCAL AUTHORIZATION — Providing the licensing and regulatory authority required for activities that must be conducted locally.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP — Maintaining local knowledge of the client, operation, asset and servicing requirements.

LOCAL MARKET PERSPECTIVE — Understanding domestic insurance capacity, insurer appetite, documentation requirements and market conditions.

JGA Caribbean’s role is not to bypass the local insurance structure. Where appropriate, our role is to complement it.

A HISTORY OF WORKING THROUGH INTERMEDIARIES

The Partnership Model Is Not New to Us.

The Caribbean insurance experience behind JGA Caribbean includes an earlier wholesale insurance chapter through Pan-Caribbean Underwriting International Ltd. (PCU). PCU was developed around the principle of distributing specialized insurance solutions through appropriately licensed Caribbean intermediaries while coordinating with international insurance markets. That history included intermediary relationships, product development, professional education, risk-management initiatives, program coordination and historical Lloyd’s-market experience. The same underlying principle remains relevant today: local professional capability and international or specialized expertise can be complementary when the risk requires both.

PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES

Clarity Before Market Activity.

Before undertaking substantive insurance-placement activity, the relevant parties should understand their respective roles, licensing responsibilities, client relationship, communication expectations and market responsibilities. Any collaboration with JGA Caribbean is subject to the circumstances of the opportunity, applicable licensing and regulatory requirements, appropriate agreements, underwriting considerations and acceptance by the relevant parties. An inquiry or submission does not create an appointment, brokerage agreement, agency relationship, joint venture, market commitment, binding authority or guarantee of placement.
